We are pleased to share that Hastings & Co. has contributed to the Asian Legal Business IPO Handbook 2026, a comprehensive guide for companies preparing to list in Hong Kong. We were invited to author Chapter 4: The IPO Application Process, where we provide practical insights into navigating the regulatory, procedural, and documentation requirements of a Hong Kong IPO.

As Hong Kong’s Capital Markets continue to recover—bolstered by regulatory enhancements and cross-border initiatives such as Stock Connect and Wealth Management Connect—we are witnessing renewed interest from enterprises seeking to capture this window of opportunity. To support our clients throughout their IPO journey, we have expanded our Capital Markets team and closely monitored the evolving listing framework and regulatory reforms, ensuring we are well-positioned to guide issuers under the new Hong Kong regime.

Our Capital Markets Partners, Wanda Suen and King Lai, Consultant Anthony Lui, and Associate Toni Yihan Tong collaborated on this year’s handbook, offering an in-depth overview of the Hong Kong IPO application process. The chapter covers key submissions, core IPO documentation, formation of the IPO working group, due diligence expectations, regulatory and financial requirements, as well as marketing, pricing, and post-listing obligations. It also highlights the streamlined transfer mechanism for GEM issuers moving to the Main Board.

We are proud to contribute to this publication and to help companies better understand the path to listing in Hong Kong. Our team stands ready to support issuers as they take their next step towards the public markets.
